Teaching for those with Dyslexia
Children with a diagnosis of Dyslexia, while they may have in common a significant difficulty with reading and writing that is not reflective of their cognitive ability, do not all learn in the same way. I will therefore require a questionnaire to be completed as fully as possible. This together with informal assessments will enable me to support your child in the most effective way, in order to create an individualised programme.
Primary – Maths and English
I can assist children by increasing their knowledge and confidence in both Maths and English.
I will conduct a series of assessments to enable me to have an understanding of the needs and strengths of your child. This will allow me to create a tailored programme that will enable your child to learn at their pace.
11+ preparation for grammar and independent schools
11+ preparation will include Kent, Bexley, St Olaves and Newstead alongside local independent schools.
This will cover a variety of maths, writing and reading comprehension along with verbal and non-verbal reasoning/spatial reasoning activities. Exam tips and techniques will be covered in each topic. During each session past papers/questions, together with a variety of IT programmes will be used. Homework will be required.
Each student will be assessed to decide suitability in completing the 11+ exams.
GCSE – Maths
I can assist children in gaining more knowledge and exam practise for GCSEs at both foundation and higher level, together with assistance in completing homework.
